Olympia Brewing Company opened in 1896 in Tumwater, Washington, built on the strength of the artesian well water at the brewery site — "It's the Water" became one of the most recognized slogans in American brewing history. Olympia Gold was part of that promotional legacy before the Tumwater operation closed in 2003.
