David Allan Coe — Longhaired Redneck Tribute | Richardson 112 Realtree Max-7 | In Memory of DAC 1939–2026

The Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy. The Longhaired Redneck. The outlaw's outlaw.

David Allan Coe passed on April 29, 2026. He was 86 years old, and he lived every one of them on his own terms — through prison, through Nashville, through the highways, through the music. He wrote 'Take This Job and Shove It.' He wrote 'You Never Even Called Me by My Name.' He wrote the songs that Willie Nelson sang and the songs that nobody else would touch. He was one of a kind.

PM Outfitters made this hat to honor him. The laser-engraved vegan leather patch is an original design inspired by the Longhaired Redneck album art — DAC's portrait in precise laser detail, ornate scroll framing, his name arcing across the top, the album title scrolled below. On a Richardson 112 in Realtree Max-7 camo with gold mesh. Built in Mississippi. Made for the people who understood him.

The Tribute Patch — PM Outfitters Original Design:

The Longhaired Redneck album, released in 1976, is among the most celebrated records in David Allan Coe's catalog. The title track is an anthem — defiant, autobiographical, and completely Coe. 'They tell me I look like Merle Haggard, and I sound a lot like David Allan Coe.' Nobody but DAC would write that line. The album art from that era is iconic to his fanbase, and this patch draws from that visual identity.

PM Outfitters designed the patch as a tribute from Mississippi to one of country music's most uncompromising figures. Die-cut shaped vegan leather — not a standard rectangle, but a shaped patch that follows the contours of the design. Precision laser engraving. Permanent heat-press application. The kind of hat that DAC's fans will recognize immediately for what it is: a piece made with genuine respect.

Precision laser-engraved vegan leather — permanent, fade-proof DAC portrait
Die-cut shaped patch — contoured to the design, not a generic square
'David Allan Coe' lettered across the top arc
'Longhaired Redneck' scrolled across the lower banner
Ornate scroll work framing — honors the album art visual tradition
Natural tan/brown vegan leather — warm tones that complement the Realtree camo
Commercial heat-press bond — permanent professional application

Realtree Max-7 Camo — The Colorway That Fits:

Realtree Max-7 is the premium waterfowl camo — built for the marsh and the blind, the Southern bottomland and the Delta. It's the camo that DAC's audience knows. Paired with the gold mesh back and the natural vegan leather patch, the warm tones of the Max-7 pattern tie the whole hat together into something that feels like it was always supposed to exist. This isn't a costume. It's the hat that belongs to the people who lived what DAC sang about.

Richardson 112 — The Base It Deserves:

Richardson 112 Original Trucker — EST. 1970
Five-panel structured front — premium 60/40 cotton-poly construction
Realtree Max-7 camo across all front panels and visor
Gold/tan mesh back — warm tones consistent with the full hat design
Adjustable snapback — OSFM secure fit

The Collector's Case:

Tribute memorabilia for outlaw country icons carries real collector value, particularly pieces created in the immediate window following an artist's passing. PM Outfitters produces in limited batches by design. This design was created as a direct response to David Allan Coe's passing, and the production run is deliberately small. For DAC collectors, the proximity to his death and the limited production make this a historically significant piece in the memorabilia timeline.

Perfect For:

David Allan Coe fans — the lifelong ones who know every album
Outlaw country collectors and country music memorabilia buyers
Anyone who grew up with 'Take This Job and Shove It,' 'The Ride,' and 'Longhaired Redneck'
Hunters and Southern outdoor culture enthusiasts who live the outlaw country world
Country music history collectors seeking tribute pieces from the post-passing window
